Pre-K (Ages 4–5)
Our Pre-K program is designed to support children as they grow into more confident, capable learners, while honoring the way young children learn best — through hands-on experiences, play, movement, conversation, and exploration.
Children are introduced to early literacy through stories, songs, letters, sounds, and early writing, and to early math through counting, patterns, sorting, measuring, and problem-solving. These ideas are woven into games, projects, conversations, and everyday classroom moments so learning feels natural, meaningful, and enjoyable rather than forced or formal.
Through projects, creative work, science and nature exploration, building, and guided discussions, children learn to notice, wonder, ask questions, make connections, and think more deeply about the world around them. They begin to explore maps, land and water, continents, cultures, and the idea of their place in the world in ways that feel exciting, age-appropriate, and engaging.
Outdoor learning extends the classroom into nature, supporting scientific thinking, physical development, and curiosity about the world.
At the same time, we continue to emphasize social-emotional development, self-regulation, collaboration, and communication, helping children learn to focus, follow multi-step directions, work independently and in groups, express their ideas, and take pride in their learning.
With small class sizes and a 1:6 ratio, teachers are able to challenge each child appropriately, support individual strengths and needs, and ensure every child feels confident, capable, and well-prepared for kindergarten and beyond!
Above all, this program nurtures not only knowledge but curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning, empowering children to become thoughtful, capable, and enthusiastic learners.
Placement is based on both age and developmental readiness. This allows us to thoughtfully support each child and, when appropriate, offer earlier or more advanced placement so every child is appropriately challenged and supported — never held back.
