Welcome Families

Ready for the World Academy™ (RFTW) is led by a California-Credentialed Early Childhood Educator and Preschool Teacher specializing in kindergarten readiness. We are a licensed Preschool and Pre-K program located in San Francisco’s Southern Hills neighborhood, just two blocks from Daly City, built on over a decade of experience supporting children and families.

We care deeply about these early years because we know how much they matter. Our goal is to create a place where children feel safe, supported, and truly known — a place where curiosity is encouraged, kindness is modeled, and a love of learning grows naturally.

We prepare children for kindergarten in a way that is thoughtful, loving, and personal. We want every child to walk into their next classroom feeling confident in who they are, comfortable socially and emotionally, and ready for the learning ahead.

What makes our program special is the heart behind it. We believe children learn best when guided by intentional, loving teachers. Over the years, we’ve worked with children from many different backgrounds, beginnings, and ways of learning. Because of this, we don’t rely on one single teaching approach. We draw from Waldorf, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and play-based learning, combining guided lessons, independent exploration, and meaningful play so each child is met where they are and supported in how they learn best. Because of this, they are not only prepared for kindergarten, but leave us ready for the world.

We take the time to get to know each child — their personality, their strengths, and the areas where they may need extra support. We maintain a 1:6 teacher-to-child ratio, which allows us to offer personalized teaching and care, so no child gets lost in the crowd.

We see the preschool years as a foundation for everything that comes next. Through creativity, movement, friendships, and discovery, children build confidence, problem-solving skills, emotional awareness, and a positive relationship with learning itself.

Our children are cared for by a consistent, familiar team, which helps create a strong sense of safety, trust, and emotional security — something we believe is essential for healthy growth and learning.

We also believe that preschool works best when families and teachers work together. We value open communication, mutual trust, and true partnership with caregivers. We strive to build a community that feels warm, supportive, and connected.

We understand that choosing a preschool often means trusting someone else with your child for the first time — and that can feel both hopeful and incredibly hard. We are grateful for the trust families place in us, and we take that responsibility to heart every single day.
